I am a licensed psychologist providing online and in-person psychotherapy to adults in the state of MD. I consider myself a generalist, and I have worked with individuals representing a wide range of ages and presenting concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, alcohol abuse and coping effectively with life's challenges. I work from a collaborative, strengths-based, culturally sensitive perspective. I help my clients develop their understanding of themselves as unique individuals within the context of their life, their relationships and society as a whole and to identify and work toward their goals for change. I respect and appreciate all forms of diversity, and I attend to the role of an individual's multiple, intersecting identities in our work and our relationship.
I received a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1993 and completed a doctoral internship at the Boston University Counseling Center. In addition to private practice, I have 25+ years of experience working as a therapist and an administrator in several college counseling centers, most recently serving as the Executive Director of the Johns Hopkins University Counseling Center. I therefore have extensive experience working with young adults.
